چکیده
Background: Carangids, like any other fish, can become infected with a variety of external and internal parasites. Little information on parasite infestations in these fish species is known. This study aimed to provide light parasites that infect caragnids Saudi Arabia. Methods: A total 20 Carangoides caeruleopinnatus specimens were collected from the Red Sea (Saudi Arabia) then examined for presence digenetic trematodes. Parasitic isolated studied morphologically by using microscopic examination molecularly via partial sequencing 18S rRNA 28S genes. Result: Only one parasitic has been identified. morphometric compatible previously Monostephanostomum mesospinosum, identified malabaricus VSK, BOB. Phylogeny revealed putative acanthocolpid nested well within clade clustering species, which along morphological data, suggests it member genus Monostephanostomum. Query sequences showed identities 97.99% 97.98% (EF506762.1.1) (EF506763.1) nolani, respectively. reflects third account this as endoparasitic taxa various carangid providing novel DNA data species.

Monostephanostonum nolani sp. n. is described from Carangoides plagiotaenia Bleeker, off Lizard Island, Great Barrier Reef, Queensland, Australia. It differs from all other species in the genus except M. manteri Kruse, 1979 in that the vitellarium reaches into the forebody. It differs from M. manteri in the ventral hiatus in the circum-oral spine row, the extent of the vitellarium in the forebo...

Aims: Vibrio parahaemolyticus is a marine and estuarine bacterium that has been documented as the causative agent of food-borne outbreak worldwide. The aim of this study was to confirm the identification of presumptive V. parahaemolyticus isolates to the species level by using PCR targeted to the outer membrane protein regulation operon gene (toxR) and to investigate antibiotic resistance, plas...

Sediment samples were collected at low tide from various localities of Jubail Marine Wildlife Sanctuary in the Arabian Gulf during 1996-1997 for the study of the marine interstitial ciliate fauna of the Sanctuary. Eleven species belonging to the genus Frontonia (Order: Hymenostomatida) were identified, 7 of which represent new records of the fauna of the Arabian Gulf and of Saudi Arabia. The di...
